Recheado Bangdo

Recheado Bangdo that stuffed mackerel is the original goan recipe and one of the most favorite dishes of many goans. The locals love fish and they love chili. It is simple, it just a fried fish that have been stuffed and marinated with recheado masala paste. Recheado dishes are distincty from The Portuguese influence. The stuffing is made up various local spices and can be used stuff any fish of your choice. It is a spicy and tangy preparation. The Recheado masala paste is also prepared in different ways in different parts of the state.

Recheado Bangdo

Recipe 1

Ingredients:

5 Mackerels

5 dry red chilies

6 cloves

1/2 inch cinnamon

2 garlic cloves

1 big onion 

Turmeric powder

8 green chilies

8 peppercorns

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

2 inch tamarind

1 teaspoon of sugar

Coconut oil 

Rice flour

Salt to taste

Preparation:

1. Cut the whole mackerel into half

2. Chop the onion and fry it in a pan with some vegetable oil

 3. Add onion, chilies, turmeric powder, cloves, peppercorns, cumin seeds, salt, cinnamon, tamarind, sugar and little water in the grinder and grind it into fine paste (semi dry)

4. Take the mixture that the masala and stuff the mackerels and also apply it on the mackerels

5. Coat the mackerels with rice flour

6. Take a frying pan, add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and fry the mackerels

Recheado Bangde are ready to serve

Recipe 2

Ingredients:

Hand full of fresh green coriander leaves

1 inch ginger

8 garlic cloves

1 big onion

7 green chilies

4 cloves

1 inch cinnamon

1 inch tamarind

Salt to taste

Rice flour

Coconut oil

Preparation:

1. Cut the whole mackerel into half

2. Chop the onion and keep aside

 3. Add coriander leaves, chilies, ginger, garlic, cloves, salt, cinnamon, tamarind and little water in the grinder and grind it into fine paste (semi dry)

4. Take the mixture that the masala and mix it with chopped onion

5. Stuff the mackerels with the masala and also apply it on the mackerels

5. Coat the mackerels with rice flour

6. Take a frying pan, add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and fry the mackerels

Plain Fish Fry

Fried Mackerels or Fried fish is also common where you take any fish that u like clean it, cut it  and coat it with turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, rice flour and then fry it in coconut oil.
